Wednesday 30th September 2026 - The Week Before Session
On Wednesday, before the next Pied à Terre, we have our ‘week-before’ session at the Gibraltar Gardens Pub. This session is for both musicians and dancers. We usually have a few dancers, so it’s a great informal opportunity to try out new tunes for dancing
Although there is no strict set-list it will be an opportunity to play again some of the tunes we played at the last club night. Beyond that, it’s anything you’d like to play.

Wednesday 7th October 2026 - Kerry Fletcher
Get your dancing shoes on and give Kerry Fletcher a warm welcome back! She’s coming to Pied à Terre again, bringing her wonderful enthusiasm and engaging dance teaching. Kerry is a well-loved dance teacher at clubs and festivals, and she’s also involved in community projects all over the country. She’s one of the organisers of the Eurobash Festival of European music and dance. Making dance more accessible and inclusive is a big part of Kerry’s work, and she’s especially excited to encourage people who are new to dance, because she truly believes that everyone has a natural rhythm and they just need to find the music that makes them move! Kerry will be teaching something new and revisiting some familiar moves.

Friday 23rd October 2026 - Special 30th Anniversary Bal - Xim, The Kitchen Band and The Pied à Terre Band

They have been playing a new angle on central French dance music since 1998, bringing people on to the dance floors at numerous international events including the Sidmouth International Festival of Folk Arts. Their music has been played on many radio shows too, including The Late Junction on BBC Radio 3. Also they just happened to have been our resident band at the beginning of Pied à Terre in 1996.
You can come to dance the night away or simply watch and be blown away by their exquisite music!

Wednesday 4th November 2026 - Club Night featuring Swedish Dance Tuition - Anne Leach
Anne has been involved in international folk dancing since she was a child. She has a special affection for the traditional dances of Sweden and will be bringing the lovely ‘Polska’ to Pied á Terre. Whether you’ve danced Polska before or you’re meeting it for the first time, it’s sure to be fun. She also runs the Friday Feet dance group each week a Cecil Sharpe House.

Building on the classic hurdy-gurdy, bagpipe, and accordion lineup, this trio revisits and enriches the world of traditional music from central France. Drawing on their diverse musical backgrounds, their sound is infused with jazz, pop, and rock influences.
Right now, they are excited to share their 2025 album, Vazaboire

Phil Williams has been doing English folk dancing from a young age and learned French and Breton dancing from workshops at Halsway Manor (Somerset), Gennetines (France), and local clubs in East Anglia. He plays folk music (violin) mainly from Britain, Ireland, Europe and North America.
Emma started playing flute for the Suffolk French/Breton dance club – ‘On Y Va’ – in 2021.
John Tomlinson has played guitar from a young age and been in numerous folk groups in the Ipswich area since moving there in 1986, when he met Phil. ‘Tommo’ likes quirky rhythms, so Phil asked him to play for On Y Va in 2023 when dance teacher Kerry Fletcher visited to teach 5, 8, and 11 time waltzes, and he hasn’t managed to escape!
Tour de Dance originates from that On Y Va event and now play each month from September to May, with a focus on great tunes for dancing that are unlikely to be heard at the other East Anglian clubs, with original arrangements.
